There are certain features that can be telltale signs of a nakshatra, even if the natives do not always look overtly similar across all features. There are a few specific features I love to check for when I'm suspecting that Ashwini अश्विनी nakshatra (0° – 13°20′ Mesha/Aries) may be present for male natives. Consciously checking to see if they have two or more of these traits can help you spot an Ashwini. To see the "Raven-Pretty" female version, click here or scroll to featured blogposts below.
Overall, a great way to spot Ashwini men is to note an interesting combination of typically "masculine" & "feminine" features coming together. A word I saw describing various Ashwini natives over & over was "androgynous"; I also saw "high fashion" as a descriptor of the look of many of these men.

Most consistently overall: Ashwini men have a distinct eye area. Their eyes are medium to large in size, medium to close set, & with a lot of visible eyelid show; there's a certain large hollowness to the eye socket area, with minimal periorbital fat or skin obscuring the eye contour. This leads to a generally more rounded eye shape. The softness of their eyes, which are magnetic and yielding in appearance, contrasts their heavy, thick brows and the emphasized angularity/hardness of their bone structure. Their cheek bones are prominent, jawline is slightly narrowed but defined, and their chin is large, squared, and broad.
With these commonalities, Ashwini natives are then separated into type types

based on overall constitution. Those with more kapha (earthy/water influenced) constitutions take the feminine-masculine feature-blending further. This type is shown in the above collage & gifs. Their magnetism is amplified with full, notably soft-looking lips. Some also have a quite short & soft nose (high-set on the face) with broad nostril wings.
While this type has very magnetic facial features, their bone structure contrastingly tends to be even larger and stronger in comparison to the vata-oriented Ashwini native (explored next). Facially, they have a more extreme paradoxical mixture of softness & severity, of both chiseled & delicate features. This look tends to be quite memorable, distinct, and intriguing to perceivers.
Those with more fully vata (air/ether dominated) constitutions have thin lips and longer, slightly bumped noses. This type is shown in the below collage. Their eyes are less elongated, giving truly round look. For both types of Ashwinis, the mid-cheeks also often have a padded, soft look, which is one feature that leads many Ashwinis to being described as younger-looking than their age (people tend to say this, for example, about Ashwinis like Jared Leto and Cillian Murphy).

Ashwini’s coloring, for both the men and women, leans toward being high contrast and striking. There's a commonality with dark and cool hair with light skin in regards to one’s genetic background. This is one of the main nakshatras to tend towards pulling vibrant blue eyes when it's genetically available. Eye pattern analysis of Ashwini irises tends to reveal spokes or strong petals.
Aesthetically, Ashwini tends to be quite edgy. I noted many Ashwinis with alternative styles, abundant tattoos (including on the face & neck), and hair dyed (& often slicked back) with solid, bright, unnatural colors, reminiscent of the look most recently popularized by Ashwini Sun musician Machine Gun Kelly.

You can watch my new Youtube-Short to see Ashwini features in motion (it can also be found on instagram @claire.nakti or tiktok @clairenakti). I also made a video pointing out 13 Ashwini celebrity "twins" that people spot in the media without realizing they are noticing astrological patterns. I mention there how Cillian Murphy, who can have Ashwini Moon, famously portrayed Ashwini Sun Robert Oppenheimer. With everything in astrology, these features to check for are a tendency not a rule for Ashwini's physical appearance. A person's other primary placements will bring in features as well, though one will tend to come to the surface the most strongly (relating to their dominant planet); one can have an Ashwini primary placement but be dominated by one of their other primary placements instead. In this way, I seek in these posts to isolate the Ashwini nakshatra appearance influence as much as possible by finding the most consistent common physical ground amongst its natives, while having awareness that each individual you're seeing has other astrological influences at play as well that make them unique. I wanted to make these posts so that you don't have to rely on two people looking strikingly similar to know they share a nakshatra, but rather can more consciously/logically check for certain revealing features even amongst people who have many differences.

Birth time notes: Not all celebrities in this post have verified, exact birth times. For celebrities who's Ashwini placement is likely (based on birth date) but not verified, I have typically placed an asterisk by their name. I recommend astrodatabank & astrotheme (and check their listed sources) to verify accuracy.
